Roger Cooper started in book publishing as a clerk typist at Pyramid Books in 1968. He was editor and then Executive Editor at Bantam from 1971 to 1979; Editor in Chief of Berkley Books from 1979 to 1982; Publisher of Berkley Books from 1982 to 1993; VP and Publisher of the Mass Market Division of St. Martins Press from 1993 to 1995; Senior VP and Editorial Director of Bertelsmann's 14 Doubleday Direct Book Clubs from 1995 to 2001; Consultant to Warner Books/Larry Kirshbaum on the iPublish initiative from 2001 to 2003; Executive VP, Editor in Chief, ibooks, working with Byron Preiss, from 2003 to 2006. He is currently Vice President and Publisher of Vanguard Press/The Perseus Books Group.
